Our Story
Humphreys has been a family store since first opening in 1966. John Humphrey and his wife worked together with Jeanette's parents (Jean & Tom Rickard) to establish the store, originally called it Humphreys & Rickard. John and Jeanette's three boys - Roger, Mark and Chris, have all been actively involved in the business and have helped shape it to become what it is today.
In 2007, Humphreys opened a warehouse in Balgowlah to meet the demands of the stationery division. This gave Humphreys the ability to cater for the large orders place by many local schools, as well as servicing commercial customers.
Humphreys is proud to support local charities and institutions, such as Bear Cottage, Sanfillipo Foundation, Monika's Dog Rescue, Manly Marlins and more.
Humphreys has now been in business for over 55 years, as a result of being able to adapt and change with the times - not to mention the wonderful local community and loyal customers who have continually supported them. The team consists of around 40 local staff members, many of which who have been with Humphreys for an extended time and have become family.
