Our Story

Humphreys has been a family store since first opening in 1966. John Humphrey and his wife worked together with Jeanette's parents (Jean & Tom Rickard) to establish the store, originally called it Humphreys & Rickard. John and Jeanette's three boys - Roger, Mark and Chris, have all been actively involved in the business and have helped shape it to become what it is today.

 

In 2007, Humphreys opened a warehouse in Balgowlah to meet the demands of the stationery division. This gave us the ability to cater for the large orders place by many local schools, as well as our commercial customers.

We proudly support local charities and institutions, such as Bear Cottage, Sanfillipo Foundation, Monika's Dog Rescue and more.

Humphreys has now been in business for over 50 years, as a result of being able to adapt and change with the times, not to mention our wonderful local community and loyal customers who have continually supported us. Our team consists of around 40 local staff members, many of which who have been with us for an extended time and who we think of as family.
